Weight Loss Research have managed to get their hands on Proactol's Celebrity Diet Ebook Exclusive for Weight Loss Research |
If you are considering trying any one of the latest celebrity diet fads to hit the market, then stop. Whilst these stars appear to be experiencing miracle weight loss, the truth behind their story is vastly different from the one you see in the media.
From following intense 3 hour workouts 6 times a week, to having a personal chef and trainer to help them control their diets… they have access to resources that you and me simply don’t have time for.
Then there are the diets they are choosing to follow themselves.
Cabbage diet, the Macrobiotic, Quantum wellness, the Master Cleanse, the 5 Factor diet… these are just a handful of the diets celebrities are choosing to endorse, which if you look a little closer could do more harm to your bodies than good.
Celebrity Diet breakdown
It is easy to get caught up in these diets when we are confronted with endless images of celebrities looking thin and glamorous. With no effort at all, their bodies seem to miraculously transform over night and with the added help of being able to pay others to help them with their daily pressures, it is hard not to stare at them with envy.

However, look a little closer and the lengths these celebrities go to in order to attain these bodies is far from healthy or dazzling.
- The Cabbage Diet – reportedly used by Sarah Michelle Gellar to help her slim down for the red carpet, this 7 day diet entails eating a soup concoction made up of cabbage, onions, tomatoes and a daily treat of potatoes, fruit juice or beef. By removing all other nutrients for your diet and eating just this soup, you can lose up to 10lbs in a week.
- The Macrobiotic – a firm favourite of Madonna – according to soucrces - this diet mainly consists of 25-30% whole grain cereals; 30-40% vegetables; 5-10% beans and legumes; 5% miso soup; 5-10% naturally processed foods and the remainder a mixture of fish/seafood, seeds and nuts, sweeteners, fruits and beverages.
PLEASE NOTE: Alongside following this diet, Madonna works out for at least 2-3 hours a day, doing pilates, yoga and cardio. |
- Quantum Wellness – created by Kathy Freston, Oprah swears by this 21 day cleanse. Based primarily on a vegan diet, this 21 day detox is designed to remove all traces of caffeine, sugar, alcohol, gluten, dairy and animal products from your system and replace them with whole grains, fibre, beans, legumes, steamed/sautéed vegetables, flax crackers, almonds and blueberries.
Master Cleanse – Used by Beyonce to lose 20lbs for her film role in ‘Dreamgirls’, this juice fast is designed to cleanse the body of all undigested food and toxins, whilst promoting weight loss. All it entails is ingesting 32 to 64 ounces of fruit/vegetables juices (watered down) using the following ingredients of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne.
PLEASE NOTE: this diet severely strict on its calorie and sodium intake, and can result in physical weakness, dizziness and weight loss that is primarily water based, meaning once you stop it will be regained. |
- 5 Factor diet – designed to last 5 weeks, this celebrity diet consists of eating 5 small meals a day worth 300 calories each whilst exercising 5 times a day in 5 minute bursts. The diet itself should be a low-fat protein one with a healthy balance of carbohydrates.

Finding the right route for you
Taking that first step to changing your eating habits and losing weight can be done without you having to sacrifice your health or your lifestyle. You can achieve your goals, and you can do it safely, healthily and more importantly fit it into your daily schedule with ease with diet and exercise.
By adopting any one of the following tips into your diet, you can achieve something these celebrities cannot – a healthy weight loss that will last.
- 30-45 minute walk – if you are not used to walking, start off with a 10 minute walk every day before progressing to 45 minutes. By incorporating this into your schedule every day you can naturally speed up your metabolism and burn an extra 30-60 calories a day.
- 5/6 small meals – split your meal portions into 5 to 6 small meals a day, and keep your metabolism working at peak speed.
- Work out your whole body – many make the mistake of working out just one area of their body or simply doing cardio. Instead introduce strength training into your exercise regime 3 times a week, and increase your weight loss by 12lbs a year.
- Cook from scratch – using fresh, natural ingredients, you can take control of your fat intake and know exactly how many calories are in your meals.
Relatively new to the market, Proactol is a clinically proven medical device for the treatment of obesity. Formulated from the cactus Optunia ficus-indica, following 5 successful clinical trials Proactol has been found to reduce your dietary fat intake by 28%.
